I used a high tensile bolt (the black variety), that also had a shank (not threaded all the way). Van has long since been sold, but the fix did last for the remaining time my dad owned it which I'm sure was almost certainly more than 2 years.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453087378158817318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3736674123822019514.post-32731081156628758702023-08-19T15:56:06.536-07:002023-08-19T15:56:06.536-07:00I've done this fix few years ago thanks to you...I've done this fix few years ago thanks to you , but after about 2 years the bolt snapped and the gear box remained stuck in reverse. It was a b&q M5 bolt .half of it I managed to easily fishing it wit a magnet stick from the bottom of gear box. I've done it again, this time with a bolt from Halfords.it was ok for the past 2 years but now I started to have problems again. I'll have to check it again. Anyway still better than changing the gearbox. The pin in question allows the selector mechanism to select 2nd or reverse gear. When I got the selector mechanism out I could not see any problem, this was really because I didnt understand how it worked mechically, but after playing around with the moving parts it dawned on me that although pin seemed fine it was actually snapped inside but this could not be seen until the pin was knocked out. Once i had the pin out it was actually in three peices. I was fortunate enough to have a selectin of bolts to hand and found one that fitted flush (noting the problem another poster had experienced with a bolt that was to 'proud') anyway selector fixed and once angain many thanks to the poster...

may your days be blessedRichie Rhymeshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02364080853524706850noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3736674123822019514.post-28391189524174187052020-05-27T13:22:06.903-07:002020-05-27T13:22:06.903-07:00This guy absolute legend š thanks for this tutori...This guy absolute legend š thanks for this tutorial Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07276209933907924730noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3736674123822019514.post-69660789312037702802019-11-03T00:28:11.358-07:002019-11-03T00:28:11.358-07:00Hard to tell, could be the beginnings of the same ...Hard to tell, could be the beginnings of the same problem.Davehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02453087378158817318noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3736674123822019514.post-90585945080808871372019-11-01T17:27:53.397-07:002019-11-01T17:27:53.397-07:00Hi great post i have a 2013 i am starting to have ...Hi great post i have a 2013 i am starting to have a problem pushing the button in the shifter to put in gear do u have any ideas thanks
Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14538233512654042749noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3736674123822019514.post-9468612239775929942019-06-17T21:59:50.814-07:002019-06-17T21:59:50.814-07:00No worries.
